A finger cradle band, anti-slip texture rings, and a tactile index recess on one side (so you can find the same grip position by feel) are included as retention features intended to help keep a compatible utensil in place during ordinary use. Comfort accessory only. Not a medical or therapeutic device. This is a friction-fit molded grip your hand wraps around and closes -- it is not a universal strap or cuff, so it may not suit near-total grip or grasp loss. If you cannot close your fingers around a small object at all, a strap-style adaptive cuff (available from occupational therapy suppliers) may serve you better than this product.

Your finger width, palm width, hand length, and finger spacing all set the exact printed size and contouring of this grip, your preferred contour depth sets how pronounced the shaping is, your handle shape and measurements size the insert opening to your actual fork, knife, or spoon, and your firmness choice sets which material we print it in — TPU for softer, PETG for firmer. This isn't a pre-made, one-size-fits-all holder.

Measurements

Only needed if you selected "Round" for handle shape above. Measure straight across the handle at its widest point, using calipers or a tape measure wrapped around it.

Only needed if you selected "Flat" for handle shape above. Measure the handle's wider, flat dimension -- how wide it looks face-on. Capped at 20mm (a real dinner fork handle measures ~18mm) so the grip wall around it stays a safe thickness at Ver 2.0's smaller grip diameter.

Only needed if you selected "Flat" for handle shape above. Measure the handle's narrower, edge-on dimension -- how thick it feels between your fingers.

Measure the straight, usable part of the handle -- from where the handle meets the neck (just before it curves toward the bowl or tines) to the very end of the handle. This sets how deep the insert opening is, so your utensil is held securely. If your handle is longer than 120mm, enter 120 -- the grip holds the first 120mm and the rest of the handle stays outside the grip.

Measure the width of your middle finger at the middle knuckle.

Measure straight across the widest part of your palm, excluding the thumb.

Measure across your palm at its widest point (across the knuckles), excluding the thumb. This makes a small adjustment to grip diameter -- we keep the diameter in a narrow, research-supported range regardless of hand size, since a wider grip doesn't make it easier to hold for reduced-strength hands, it makes it harder.

Keep the tape straight, not diagonal — wrist crease to fingertip.

Measure from the wrist crease to the tip of your middle finger. Capped at 210mm -- sourced adult hand-length data puts the average at 202mm (male) / 182mm (female), so 210mm comfortably covers real large hands without an unrealistic tail that also had no effect on the printed size (grip height maxes out well before 230mm).

With your fingers resting naturally together, measure across from the outside of your index finger to the outside of your ring finger.

Which utensil will this holder be used with? This labels your order -- the actual opening size comes from your handle shape and measurements below, not from this choice alone.

Most forks and knives have a flat handle; most spoons have a round handle -- but check your actual utensil rather than assuming from its type, since this decides which measurement below we use.

How pronounced would you like the palm and finger contouring to be?

This is a material choice, not a shape change: soft prints in flexible TPU, firm prints in rigid PETG.
